to apply for the job

Do you want to be part of making all of the school's new reforms understandable, useful, and actually implemented – not just neatly written down in a folder? As a coordinator for reform work and compliance with legislation in primary school, you will have a key role in translating school law, state governance, and local decisions into safe and equal education for the students. You will be the one holding the whole picture together, creating structure, and supporting school leaders and staff in their daily work. During the employment period (until 31/12/2028), the major reform package decided upon by the Riksdag will be the highest priority. However, other issues within the framework of complying with the state's mandate may also land on your desk.

About the role

In this role, you are the natural link between legislation, policy documents, and the school's practical work. You follow up, coordinate, and drive reforms so that they are implemented in a way that is both legally correct and realistic in the classroom. You work closely with principals, the governing body, student health services, and other functions, ensuring that the school's development work hangs together from "policy" to "practice".

  • Coordinate reform work and development projects within primary school
  • Ensure and follow up on compliance with legislation based on school law and state policy documents
  • Support principals and work teams in translating decisions and guidelines into daily operations
  • Develop structures, processes, and routines that simplify and quality-assure the school's work
  • Analyze the current situation, identify areas for improvement, and propose concrete actions
  • Contribute to clear and accessible communication regarding changes and requirements

What you will do

You will have a job where you switch between a strategic helicopter view and practical problem-solving. One day you plan a major reform implementation, the next day you help a principal with a concrete school law question. You look up, see patterns, and help the organization work smarter, more equally, and more structured.

  • Lead and coordinate implementation processes for new reforms and guidelines
  • Plan and conduct follow-ups on compliance with legislation and quality in the school's processes
  • Initiate and drive improvement work related to safety, equality, and student development
  • Conduct environmental scanning within school law and state governance and translate this into local practice
  • Organize forums for collegial learning and experience sharing regarding reform work
  • Prepare materials, action plans, and reports for management and relevant operations

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for you who thrive in the role of a secure, clear, and solution-oriented coordinator. You like structure, but you also have a practical view of school where you understand that everything is not always perfect on the first try. You can digest policy documents, extract the most important points, and explain them in a way that makes others actually want and able to work according to them.

  • Good knowledge of school law and the state governance of schools
  • Relevant academic education. Completed principal education is meritorious.
  • Documented experience of pedagogical leadership or close collaboration with school management
  • Experience leading projects or implementation processes in complex environments
  • Listening and flexible with good collaboration skills
  • Proactive, driven, and capable of working with a high degree of personal responsibility

Why you want to work with us

Here you step into a public operation that actually thrives on safety, development, and learning – not just talking about it in strategy documents. We are responsible for education, care, social care, and social services, which means you will work in an environment where many professions meet and where collaboration with guardians and other actors is part of daily life. You will also have a mission where core values, inclusion, diversity, and language development are natural parts of your work.

With us, you are offered municipal employment benefits, good opportunities for professional development within pedagogy and leadership, flexible working forms with annual working hours and the possibility of flexible working times, as well as some remote work in an activity-based office environment. You will work in an inclusive work climate that encourages collegial learning, idea exchange, reflection, and a supportive team – all in a nature-friendly environment where it is actually possible to balance life and work.
