The HR department works with the entire competence supply process and its sub-processes: attract, recruit, develop, retain, and separate. We provide support to the university's management, institutions, and departments. Within Mittuniversitetet, there are 13 people working in the HR department. Together, we form a department working towards our common mission, split across the locations Sundsvall and Östersund.
Responsibilities
You will work with all parts of the competence supply process (ARUBA). You will work together with managers and other employer representatives, as well as HR specialists and HR administrators who are responsible for providing specialist support to our managers and employer representatives on issues within the entire HR area within the framework of the competence supply process. You will provide them with the support they need to succeed and will work with all common tasks within the scope of the HR specialist role. You work both independently and together with others, managing your work in accordance with current laws, agreements, other regulations, and internal documents.
The consultative role places high demands on a pedagogical and problem-solving approach. In this consultative role, one works with everything from purely administrative HR issues to more qualified HR tasks. The responsibilities include participating in joint development work and conducting/participating in training. You contribute to the university conducting efficient and business-adapted HR work.
You collaborate internally within the organization, with union parties, and externally outside the organization. You report directly to the HR Director and work directly with the operations and in teams with HR administrators and HR specialists. You contribute to HR being a knowledge-bearing partner and that our employer representatives receive the support they need, within the framework of the HR department's mission, to fulfill their employer and managerial responsibilities.
Your Background
You must have a current, relevant degree at the higher education or university level with a focus on the HR area.
You must have experience working with all parts of the competence supply process.
You have specific experience working with recruitment, rehabilitation, union collaboration, change management, and personnel matters.
You have good knowledge of the laws and agreements governing HR work in the public sector.
You have experience working agilely, with a service orientation, and have the ability to collaborate with and support managers in their employer role in a pedagogical manner.
You have good verbal and written expression, very good administrative skills, and excellent knowledge of both Swedish and English.
Your Qualities
In the role of HR specialist, you need to have a strong interest in collaborating and working together with others. You have very good pedagogical skills, are sensitive, careful, and communicate in a constructive and relationship-building manner.
You have an interest in the entire HR area and a great understanding of the whole and its parts. You enjoy working both process-oriented and situation-adapted, where you take responsibility for your task and structure and drive issues in a relationship-building way.
As a person, you are secure, stable, careful, and have good self-awareness. You work equally well independently and together with others. To succeed in the role, you continuously maintain your competence, have an active awareness of the external environment, and are a knowledge resource for others.
Since HR is a function that supports employer representatives, it is required that you are service-oriented, clear, and well-read in everything from laws, agreements, and other regulations to internal steering documents. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Employment and Start Date
The employment is a full-time temporary position starting from 2026-11-01 or as agreed. The employment is for one year with the possibility of extension, during the absence of the permanent incumbent.
Place of Employment: Östersund or Sundsvall
