Resident Physician (ST) in Otorhinolaryngology – Region Västerbotten

The Neuro-Head-Neck Centre (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The centre provides care with various aspects of investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation for diseases and injuries affecting the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and jaw surgery. As a county clinic, we provide highly specialized care for patients from the entire northern healthcare area, while also conducting research, education, and development.

Within the field of ear, nose, and throat diseases, NHHC has both an outpatient clinic and an inpatient ward with a day surgery unit. Here, patients with various forms of diseases in the areas of general basic ear disease, audiology, phoniatrics, rhinology, otologic surgery, and tumor surgery are treated. We are a county clinic where combined resources are used in the most optimal way for the entire county. We offer an stimulating work environment with a pleasant atmosphere and close collaboration between different professional groups. We are affiliated with the Department of Clinical Science within the Faculty of Medicine at Umeå University.

We are now looking for a physician who wishes to complete their specialist training (ST) with us. Here you will have the opportunity to develop within the specialty that interests you, alongside experienced colleagues, and work together with engaged colleagues across all professional groups!

Job Description

As an ST-physician with us, you contribute knowledge and dedication that makes people feel safe.

You will care for and treat patients with ear, nose, and throat diseases, including surgical and follow-up care as well as medical treatment.

Through your training position, you will receive a broad specialist education and a personal supervisor. In addition to usual medical tasks such as medical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation within our operations, a number of peripheral placements will be carried out to meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's objective description.

In addition to the specialty-specific program, you as an ST-physician will also participate in the EKA training. This is a program focusing on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and time for personal reflection for ST-physicians within Region Västerbotten.

Qualifications

• You have a Swedish medical license with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare at the latest upon commencement.
• You have an interest in specializing in ear, nose, and throat diseases and, if desired, a chosen subspecialty.
• Personal suitability and teamwork skills are taken into account.
• We require good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1.
• Travel within the county may occur.
