The Center for Musculoskeletal Research and Clinical Research (Rörelseorganens centrum) in Umeå is responsible for Orthopedics in the northern healthcare region, which covers the four northernmost counties. The center is divided into the sections of Arthroplasty and Tumor, FACTUM, Trauma, and Spine, all of which perform thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually.

The Center for Musculoskeletal Research and Clinical Research in Umeå is a University Healthcare Unit (USVE), where research and student supervision are a natural part of daily clinical practice.

Within the Center in Umeå, there are outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, a day surgery unit, an administrative unit, and an orthopedic technical center. Our care is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professional categories are engaged in the patient's care process and collaborate for the best results, with the vision of keeping Norrland on its feet and in motion.

The Orthopedic Ward has close cooperation with Umeå University through our newly opened clinical education department. Training students and employees is close to our hearts, and through this new department, we achieve a unique blend of highly specialized care and clinical education. We offer you a good introduction and ongoing competence development through our internal training program with a specialization in orthopedics. You can choose to work on a traditional AB schedule or on the 3:3 model. Choosing to join our working time model gives you increased influence over your schedule, a shorter weekly working time, and extra compensation for working inconvenient hours. Job Description

As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

On the ward, you will have the opportunity to learn a broad range of orthopedic care, from planned admissions to emergency care involving trauma care and advanced spinal surgery. Here, nurses play a vital and clear role in the care team, where you, as a nurse, motivate and lead other care staff.

As a nurse, you work closely with the patient. The job involves identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's various care needs. We work in fast-paced care chains where mobilization and a quick return to previous life activities are sought after surgery. As a nurse with us, you perform standard nursing duties for an acute care ward, such as medication management, patient and next-of-kin conversations, and planning.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are an engaged colleague and contribute with knowledge and joy, who feel responsible for the patient's well-being and the continued development of the operations.

You are a registered nurse with an interest in orthopedics and emergency care. You can handle multiple tasks in parallel and see it as a challenge to work in a varied pace. You enjoy collaborating with people in different professional categories and actively contribute to a good work environment through your knowledge and engagement.
