YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will enable a strong, consistent delivery of Ingka’s sustainability agenda by empowering Country Sustainability Managers and local teams to act with clarity, confidence, and impact. Build capability, coach leadership and drive frontline insights, so markets take ownership and translate global ambition into practical business decisions that support performance and impact.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Drive Country Ownership & Enablement (Matrix responsibility): Ensure country teams have clarity, capability and prerequisites to execute sustainability initiatives that are relevant to their markets and business realities.
• Build Capability Through Coaching & Mentoring: Lead development of country sustainability leaders and teams through effective coaching, mentoring and role modelling of behaviours that embed sustainability in everyday decisions.
• Track & Strengthen Performance: Lead tracking, monitoring and performance dialogue across countries to ensure delivery, learning and continuous improvement on key sustainability goals.
• Maintain Cross‑Country Visibility & Alignment: Own the overview of sustainability initiatives across countries, support prioritisation and scaling of proven solutions, and identify gaps or duplications.
• Foster Collaboration & Best Practice Sharing: Lead and enable cross‑market collaboration, knowledge exchange and co‑creation of tools, playbooks and approaches that raise the bar globally.
WHO YOU ARE
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
• Experience leading a matrix organisation, where you align leaders around common priorities while understanding local market needs and ensuring relevance in different contexts.
• Strong understanding of retail and business operations, with the ability to connect sustainability to growth, cost efficiency, and brand goals, supporting markets in delivering overall business performance.
• A solid track record of coaching and developing leaders and teams, building capabilities and strengthening sustainability leadership across markets.
• Experience driving collaboration across markets, enabling best practice sharing by creating simple tools, forums, and ways of working that help teams learn from each other and scale successful solutions.
• The ability to influence senior leaders, manage complex situations, and facilitate constructive dialogue to co-create solutions and move the business forward.
• University degree and 7 years related experience, or minimum 10 years of related experience
