We are looking for a Cultural Environment Specialist with archaeological expertise for an assignment within Trafikverket's Southern Region.

This is a consulting assignment.

Location: Southern Region (Skåne, Blekinge, Kronoberg, and Kalmar counties). Assignments may take place anywhere within this geographical area.

The assignment can be performed on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on resource planning and agreed scope.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As a Cultural Environment Specialist with archaeological expertise, you are responsible for ensuring that cultural environment issues are handled correctly in connection with maintenance measures within road infrastructure. The role includes inventory, investigation, assessment, and processing of cultural-historical remains, as well as collaboration with authorities and other relevant stakeholders. The work is carried out in close collaboration with environmental specialists and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Inventory existing documentation regarding ancient monuments, possible ancient monuments, and other cultural-historical remains that may be subject to consultation or applications for intervention.
• Inventory, investigate, identify, and assess which cultural objects require consultation or permits from supervisory authorities.
• Consult and dialogue with authorities, municipalities, and property owners regarding cultural environment issues.
• Prepare and process permit and dispensation applications.
• Conduct an investigation and propose a uniform working method for cultural environment considerations in drainage measures for all regions.
• Ensure that cultural environment issues are handled in accordance with legal requirements, relevant guidelines, as well as internal strategies and routines.
• Collaborate with Trafikverket's environmental specialists and project managers in the execution of the assignment.
• Work with cultural environment considerations related to drainage measures such as ditching, ditch cleaning, edge cutting, and culvert replacement where remains may be affected.

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• You have a university or college education of at least three years with an archaeological focus, or equivalent competence assessed as comparable.
• You have good knowledge of and experience with inventories, investigations, and other relevant knowledge bases related to cultural environments along roads.
• You have at least four years of professional experience in the cultural environment field and are accustomed to independently driving and executing qualified tasks within the area.
• You express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• You have experience from at least four assignments in the cultural environment field carried out during the last four years, where the combined experience covers at least 160 working hours:

• At least one of your previous assignments has involved work with cultural environments in connection with roads.
• You have independently carried out assignments with an archaeological focus.
• Alternatively, you have experience in processing cultural-historical cases concerning ancient monuments and other cultural-historical remains at roads, covering at least ten cases during the last four years.
• You can demonstrate good results from previous assignments or case processing and have experience in delivering with high quality, good teamwork, good cost control, and good time management.
