This assignment is located in Kristianstad and belongs to Trafikverket Maintenance, Technology and Environment, UHtmn, Southern Region.

About the Role

Trafikverket is looking for a resource consultant as a technical engineer, junior and assistant environmental specialist within the natural environment. The role belongs to the Environment section within Maintenance and involves working closely with an environmental specialist in natural environments.

You will support the operations with various natural environment issues related to Trafikverket's road and railway facilities. The assignment also includes transferring knowledge to Trafikverket employees regarding the tasks performed by the resource consultant.

Role and Responsibilities

As a technical engineer within the natural environment, you will among other things:

• Provide support and process arising natural environment issues from operations
• Prepare documentation for procurement of basic contracts
• Monitor the effectiveness of fauna measures, data collection, and compilation
• Review natural environment requirements at kick-off meetings based on internal steering documents and guidelines
• Provide support in ordering and conducting permits and basic inventories
• Support operations during procurement processes
• Participate in regulatory work and answer questions from the public
• Participate in strategic work to evaluate methods and routines
• Prepare documentation for targeted environmental measures and measures in maintenance plans
• Handle authority cases, including 12:6 consultations, dispensations, and permits

Competency Requirements

We expect you to meet all the mandatory requirements listed below, which should be clearly stated in your CV:

• A university degree of 180 credits in biology, ecology, or landscape science, or alternatively another education combined with experience that Trafikverket considers relevant for the assignment
• At least 1 year of work experience handling natural environment issues. The experience must not be older than 3 years from the tender date
• Basic knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
• Basic knowledge of the Environmental Code
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Current safety training for road work
• At least 1 year of experience with inventory work in infrastructure environments, within roads and railways
• At least 1 year of experience with diary management and handling databases for environmental phenomena
• Valid Swedish driver's license for passenger cars

Assignment Information

Assignment Period: 1/9 2026 – 31/8 2028

Extension Option: +2 years

Scope: 80–100%

Location: Kristianstad

Remote Work: Allowed by agreement with the client

Travel: Travel within the Southern and South-Eastern regions is required for the role

Trafikverket provides a computer and workspace at Trafikverket's office in Kristianstad.
