Waste Engineer for Sjöbo Municipality

We are now looking for an expanded position as a Waste Engineer, part of the Water and Waste unit within the Technical Administration. The unit works daily to ensure that the technical services for our residents function as intended.

The Technical Administration consists of the operations Public Outdoor Environment, Leisure, Water and Waste, as well as the Service Unit.

DUTIES

Your closest colleague is the current Environmental and Waste Engineer. The Water and Waste unit also includes Water Engineers, as well as the Water and Waste Manager. Furthermore, we maintain close contact with the Service Unit. Your duties will be both ongoing and of a strategic nature. You will have both supportive and project management roles, and the work will be both independent and overlapping.

Your duties will include, among other things:

• Upstream/preventive work (e.g., information campaigns to increase recycling, reduction of residual waste, or similar).
• Work on the development and updating of policy documents such as the Waste Plan (Circular Economy Plan) and waste regulations.
• Participation in collaboration forums regarding waste management, both internally and externally.

Other tasks may include:

• Monitoring laws and regulations in the relevant area and evaluating what any changes mean for the operations in consultation with colleagues.
• Ongoing operational issues.
• Reporting (annual and/or quarterly).

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in a relevant field for the position, or work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Proficient user of the Office package.
• Category B driver's license.

PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience or knowledge of waste management, waste legislation, or municipal waste regulations.
• Experience working with case investigations.
• Experience working with procurement, LOU (Public Procurement Act).
• Experience working in customer systems.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date by agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.
