Job Responsibilities

As an elevassistant, you work closely with a student with special needs and support them throughout the school day. This may involve creating a sense of safety, helping to understand instructions, guiding in social situations, and contributing to the student's ability to focus and absorb the teaching.

You help the student understand the day's structure, prepare for transitions, and work with strategies that create calm and security. To support the teaching, you help the student get started with tasks, interpret instructions, and maintain focus. You collaborate closely with the teacher to adapt methods and materials.

An important part of the assignment is to build a stable and trust-based relationship with the student, which is a key foundation for the student to feel safe and develop.

You work closely with the student's teacher and the student health team and are an important part of the overall support around the student. When you are not working directly with the specific student, you support other students in the activity. This may mean being present in the classroom, group rooms, or in connection with the teaching to contribute to peace, structure, and support where needed.

The position includes:

• Creating safety and structure for the student during the school day.
• Supporting the student in teaching situations and in social contexts.
• Working relationally, building trust, and contributing to a calm and predictable climate.
• Close dialogue and collaboration with teachers and student health services regarding adaptations and strategies.
• Supporting the student in developing independence and positive strategies.
• Contributing to a good learning environment in the classroom and at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Education as a treatment assistant, social pedagogue, elevassistant, or other relevant education within pedagogy or social work.
• Experience working with children or young people with special needs, NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders), or psychosocial issues.
• Knowledge of low-affective handling and relationship-building working methods.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have a good ability to create trust-based relationships. You meet students with respect, sensitivity, and a calm approach, even in situations that may be challenging. You have a genuine interest in understanding the student's needs and work in a structured and clear manner to create safety and predictability in everyday life.

You are solution-focused, patient, and have an easy time collaborating with both teachers and student health services. Your communicative skills allow you to adapt your behavior to the student's daily condition and needs. Furthermore, you take responsibility, are reliable, and contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.

Employment Terms

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-11. There is a possibility that the employment will be extended, depending on needs and conditions, ending: 2027-06-18.
