Ölmestadskolan is a school for grades F-9 (preschool class to grade 9) with approximately 260 students and 40 staff members. We work in teams for grades F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, where the F-3 team collaborates with the leisure center. The school is located in Reftele, a smaller community in Gislaved Municipality. We have excellent and purpose-built facilities and a large schoolyard. Surveys from both students and teachers attest to a calm climate with good relationships between students and staff. This school year, we are working with prioritized goals focused on increasing reading enjoyment and improving reading skills, motivation, and participation. Ölmestadskolan is a school where we strive to strengthen the sense of 'we' in the collegium by maintaining short lines of communication between teachers, student health services staff, and management. We also believe that close and transparent contact with guardians is important so that students can feel as well as possible and thereby succeed in school.

Responsibilities

You will teach Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) in our grades 4-9 unit. There may also be an opportunity to teach SVA in the lower primary school. You will work in teams with good opportunities for collaboration. In addition to teaching, the position includes responsibility as a homeroom teacher. The exact content of the position will be determined in consultation with you and the team to shape the organization as qualitatively as possible based on your competencies and wishes.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are qualified to teach Swedish in grades 7-9, as well as having qualifications in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA). For qualified/certified applicants, a permanent employment contract will be offered. You should be a competent educator with a desire to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You need to be interested in working in a digital environment, as all students in Gislaved Municipality have access to learning tablets during lessons. At a F-9 school, it is important to create a coherent thread through the organization, which means that collaboration is important both within the team and between the different stages. To achieve as much equity as possible in the school, an open climate and a willingness to collaborate are crucial.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may also be filled on an ongoing basis during the application period. The position is subject to necessary decisions being made.
