The Högland Consortium is a municipal association formed by Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. These five municipalities, located on the Småland highlands, value cooperation and know that we become stronger together. In total, we have approximately 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3,000 students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for the future in the working life or for further studies. In the summer of 2026, Högland's adult education will also join, located in Sävsjö, Eksjö, and Nässjö.

Your new job

As a vocational teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, implementing, and following up on teaching in our construction and civil engineering program at the upper secondary school, as well as in property and construction at the adapted upper secondary school. Your assignment includes following the curriculum within your subjects and adhering to other governing documents. You will be part of both a work team and a subject team that meet regularly to work on joint development and a shared vision within the education. You will grade independently or in consultation with a qualified teaching colleague if you lack certification.

About you

We are primarily looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher. We would like you to have several years of experience from the construction industry and a desire to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of construction workers. You have good IT skills and are proficient in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A B-class driver's license is required. If you have previous experience working in schools, preferably teaching in relevant vocational subjects, it is an advantage. Since the assignment is divided between the national program and our adapted upper secondary school, it is an advantage if you have experience working with and meeting people who need adaptation and extra support.

As a person, you take responsibility for your task, initiate activities, and drive them forward. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and create and maintain good relationships with students, teaching colleagues, and others at the school. You understand that our students absorb knowledge in different ways and have different prerequisites, and you can adapt your way of conveying and teaching your own knowledge based on individual needs.

About our school

Brinellgymnasiet is located in Nässjö and is one of five schools within Höglandsgymnasiet. Together, we improve competence, raise quality, and give upper secondary students even better conditions for success.

At Brinellgymnasiet, we have approximately 200 employees and about 1,100 students. We offer 14 national programs and have a national sports high school in bowling, national sports education programs in bandy and basketball, as well as local sports education programs in basketball, football, and ice hockey.

The school has a newly renovated modern library, which is an important part of the pedagogical operations.

Good to know

This position is a full-time temporary substitute position during the school year 2026/2027. We may call in for the first interview during the ongoing advertising period, so do not wait with your application.

If you have a teaching certificate, we would like you to attach a teaching certificate obtained from the Swedish National Agency for Education that is no older than two months.

As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement, in accordance with the School Act, that you present an extract from the criminal record register for work within the school. You request this extract on the police website.

If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove your citizenship. You do this by showing a valid passport or a certificate of personal status together with a valid ID document. A certificate of personal status is ordered from the Tax Agency under "My Pages." If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, you must also be able to present a valid residence and/or work permit to work in Sweden. Employment can only take place after the work permit has been checked, in accordance with the Aliens Ordinance.
