Job Description

Ljungaskolan is looking for an engaged teacher for our municipal special education group for students in grades 4-6. Do you want to work in a setting where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for students who need it most? Then this might be the job for you.

The municipal special education group is a smaller educational environment for students who are in need of extensive support to reach their full potential. The group primarily targets students in grades 4-6 with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD), learning difficulties, and other support needs that require an adapted learning environment. The activity offers a safe, structured, and accessible educational environment with high staff density. A maximum of 5-6 students are present in the group at the same time, which creates good conditions for individual adaptation and close relationships.

Responsibilities. As a teacher in the special education group, you are responsible for:

• Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching, primarily in middle school subjects.
• Adapting teaching and the learning environment based on students' individual needs.
• Serving as a mentor for the student group.
• Documenting students' development, interventions, and adaptations.
• Close collaboration with guardians, student health services, and the students' home schools.
• Contributing to creating a safe, predictable, and developmental learning environment.
• Collaborating with student assistants when such support is attached to the student.
• You will work in close cooperation with the school's special educator and other professionals regarding the students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license.
• Have experience in teaching and a strong commitment to students' learning and development.
• Have a good ability to adapt teaching based on different students' needs.

It is meritorious if you:

• Have a special teacher degree or other special pedagogical competence.
• Have experience working with students with NPD.
• Have knowledge of and experience with low-affective handling.
• Have experience creating accessible and adapted learning environments.
