Job Responsibilities

As a building conservation teacher within the vocational higher education program Building Conservation Interior and Furniture Carpentry, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing the teaching.

The role includes, among other things:

• Plan and conduct teaching in both theory and practice within building conservation and traditional craftsmanship.
• Teach methods, materials, and techniques related to restoration, interior carpentry, and sustainable construction.
• Supervise students in practical exercises, projects, and thesis work.
• Participate in the development of the education's content in dialogue with the industry and the management group.
• Contribute to and follow up on LIA (Learning in Work) in collaboration with companies and supervisors.
• Work with assessment, follow-up, and documentation of students' results.
• Contribute to a learning environment characterized by quality, professional pride, and a focus on sustainability.
• Work with and contribute to applications within the vocational higher education sector.

You work in close dialogue and collaboration with the education leader and other teachers to ensure high quality and continuity in the education.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have strong professional competence in building conservation and a commitment to passing on craftsmanship knowledge.

Requirements:

• Experience within building conservation, restoration, or fine carpentry.
• Documented experience of practical work with traditional methods, materials, and techniques.
• Good pedagogical skills and interest in working with adult students.
• Ability to plan and structure teaching and create clear goals for learning.
• Good teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with the industry and colleagues.
• Valid B-driver's license is required.

Merits:

• Teacher education or pedagogical training.
• Experience of teaching within vocational education or YH (Vocational Higher Education).
• Breadth in different craftsmanship techniques (e.g., carpentry, surface treatment, restoration methods).
• Network within the building conservation industry.

Employment Terms

Employment Type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: According to agreement.
