We are now looking for a qualified teacher for the Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide education program.

Job Responsibilities

At present, we primarily need reinforcement in teaching for participants on the Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide education program, but teaching on other courses, short courses, and commissioned training may also become relevant.

You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating lessons. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor for a class.

As a teacher at Tärna Folk High School, you are part of the organization's important social-pedagogical work. This means you must be interested in people and engage in both boarding life and other activities that may occur at a folk high school. It also means that you have several important roles in your teaching work alongside your main subjects.

About the Workplace

Tärna Folk High School was founded in 1876 and is therefore one of the country's oldest folk high schools. A folk high school is something unique. It is not just about studying theoretical subjects but also about the development of the whole person.

At Tärna Folk High School, you can study on our long courses: General Course, IT Pedagogical Education, Preparatory Prison and Police Education, Stress Pedagogy Education, Massage Therapist Education, Health Massage Education, Preparatory Healthcare Education, and Nursing Assistant/Nurse Aide Education. We offer short courses, commissioned training, and some conference activities.

Qualifications

For this position, we require you to have qualifications from the Folk High School Teacher Program, a teacher education program, or other forms of pedagogical education, and the ability to teach in healthcare subjects.

The working method at Tärna Folk High School means that we are also interested in your other potential competencies and areas of interest.

As a person, you are engaged and have good pedagogical and communicative skills. You are positive, social, and find it easy to establish contact with other people. You enjoy taking personal responsibility, are flexible, and can work in teams as well as independently. You are solution-focused, non-hierarchical, and find it easy to collaborate.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Folk High School's ideals.

Employment Terms

Summer position.

The position is a permanent full-time (100%) position, with a six-month probationary period.

Start date: 2026-08-10 or as agreed.
