Your role at Iver
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (OpenStack Neutron Specialist) who wants to own and further develop the OpenStack networking layer that underpins Cleura's cloud services. Cleura is part of Iver Group AB and is the European cloud offering fully automated digital infrastructure services for companies that want to innovate without compromising on data protection and privacy.

The role is placed within the Infrastructure Engineering team, responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the entire infrastructure stack. You will work closely with teams within compute, storage, platform development, support, and architecture, acting as a deep subject matter expert in Neutron and related networking technologies such as OVN, Open vSwitch, routing, metadata services, tenant isolation, and network automation.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of Cleura's cloud platform. You will contribute to ensuring availability, scalability, performance, and security in the networking layer, and serve as the 3rd/4th line escalation point for complex issues.

Examples of responsibilities:

• Design scalable, resilient, and secure OpenStack networking platforms with a strong focus on Neutron and OVN/OVS.
• Own the architecture and daily operation of virtual network services, including L2/L3 networking, DHCP, metadata, floating IP, NAT, security groups, and tenant segmentation.
• Ensure that OpenStack networking platforms meet requirements for security, regulatory compliance, and operational standards.
• Support upgrades, lifecycle management, and change management within OpenStack network services with a strong focus on service continuity.
• Troubleshoot complex control plane and data plane issues within OpenStack networking components and the underlying Linux networking stack.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident management for critical infrastructure services.
• Drive continuous improvements in network automation, provisioning, validation, monitoring, and recovery using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you with several years of experience in similar roles and extensive experience working in large-scale OpenStack environments, with strong specialist competence in Neutron, including ML2, OVN, Open vSwitch, routing, DHCP, metadata, provider networks, tenant networks, VLAN/VXLAN/Geneve, and security groups. You are self-reliant, confident in your skills, and have a strong desire to contribute to the success of the team and customers.

We also believe you have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, support, and architecture teams to solve complex technical problems. Experience contributing to or working closely with the open source community is highly meritorious, especially within OpenStack, Neutron, OVN, Open vSwitch, or related networking projects.

Additionally, you have:

• Strong experience in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Linux networking concepts such as routing, bridging, namespaces, iptables/nftables, bonding, MTU, and packet flow analysis.
• Extensive experience investigating complex network behaviors using tools such as tcpdump, ovs/ovn tools, logs, and metrics.
• Experience designing and building automation for cloud infrastructure using tools such as Ansible.
• Very good skills in Python and Bash.
• Experience working with highly available production platforms and change management in business-critical environments.

Meritorious: Industry experience working for a Cloud provider.

Location: Iver is present in 23 locations in the Nordics. For this role, we see that you can base yourself from the nearest office to you, but preferably from Karlskrona, Stockholm, Malmö, or Landskrona.
