RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of case handler at our Guardianship Authority (Överförmyndarenheten), you work to ensure high quality and legal certainty in the operations. The overall purpose of the activity is to ensure, based on the provisions of the Parents and Children Code, that citizens of Sollefteå Municipality who, for various reasons, cannot manage their property, present their case, and protect their rights are not disadvantaged economically or legally. Those persons who need this support are assisted by a guardian or administrator.

An important part of the Guardianship Authority's mission is to recruit individuals for these roles. The Guardianship Authority then exercises supervision and control over guardianship, curatorship, and administration. As mentioned previously, you will be part of a highly experienced work group where supporting each other in various matters is second nature, but where you independently handle your own cases.

The work includes, among other things:

  • exercising supervision over representatives, i.e., guardians, administrators, and custodians
  • reviewing reports from representatives
  • handling administrative tasks such as registering documents, handling personal files, etc.
  • informing and educating within the field of activity
  • collaborating with other authorities and administrations
  • recruiting and training representatives
  • writing applications and statements to various judicial authorities
  • participating in improvement projects within the activity, with a focus on further digitalization

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have completed a basic academic education; perhaps you have studied law, economics, or social work? Alternatively, other university education and/or work experience considered relevant. It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have previous experience working in municipal or other public administration.

You thrive working independently and take responsibility for planning and organizing your work in an effective and structured manner. The assignment requires that you are analytical and have good problem-solving skills, as your main tasks involve investigating, interpreting legislation, compiling information, and formulating statements in cases that can often be complex.

You have good computer skills and are a proficient user of the Office package. You have good knowledge of Swedish as the work is communicative and places high demands on your ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. A workday may involve contact with both employees and colleagues, citizens, and authorities. To succeed in the role, we see that you are confident and considerate and have the ability to distinguish between facts and personal matters.

If you want a challenging and important job where you get the chance to dive deep into complex cases and make a difference, then this is a job for you!

We apply rolling selection and interviews in this recruitment – please submit your application!
