Job Description

The consultant will join the client's Data and Analytics organization. The organization consists of approximately 50 employees and consultants, divided into 6 agile teams. The Data and Analytics section reports directly to IT leadership.

Data, analytics, and AI are major focuses within both the business operations and IT. The organization is on a journey to become more data-driven, which entails changes in technology, working methods, and processes. The technical landscape is being modernized and consolidated primarily into a modern cloud-based analytics platform, complemented by an on-premise solution and a modern geospatial data platform. Further modernization will take place in parallel with the development of new functionality.

The organization is now seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Level 3) with an interest in building analytical capabilities in the new analytics platform, which is primarily based on a modern cloud ecosystem. The candidate will be part of one of the domain-oriented teams (Finance/HR) and will be instrumental in the overall solution design within the financial data domain. A key part of the daily routine involves sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues within the group.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the team designs solutions that meet business needs and follow internal guidelines.
• Develop new functionality and maintain existing solutions.
• Coordinate and drive data integration work.
• Manage information security in connection with the implementation of solutions.
• Handle complex datasets.
• Data transformation and modeling in an efficient and manageable way.
• Contribute to shaping working methods and processes.
• Collaborate within the team, with the business, and with other teams within Data & Analytics and other IT departments.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the group.

Required Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, with experience in developing organization-wide data and analytics platforms.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience in developing data flows, data models, or analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric and/or Microsoft Azure Synapse.
• At least three (3) years of experience with inbound and outbound data integrations within data and analytics platforms in a cloud environment.
• At least five (5) years of experience with ETL/ELT, including at least 2 years in Microsoft's cloud environment.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience in development using Apache Spark Notebooks.
• At least three (3) years of professional experience in dimensional modeling.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience in developing, configuring, and managing CI/CD pipelines in modern development environments.
• At least three (3) years of documented experience in active mentoring and technical support for more junior developers, for example through code reviews, knowledge transfer, training, or coaching within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of professional experience in semantic modeling in Power BI or Azure Analysis Services.
• At least one (1) previous assignment involving development in a Data Lakehouse architecture.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience in creating financial models within a data and analytics solution.
