French School Gothenburg is now looking for an engaged, certified, and experienced middle school teacher for core subjects and Social Sciences (SO)!

About Us

French School Gothenburg is a private school with a French profile, following the Swedish national curriculum. Instruction is conducted in Swedish, but all our students study French at various levels for three hours per week. The school operates as a non-profit association with Medborgarskolan as the main organization. The school is not profit-driven, and any financial surplus is reinvested into the school.

The school runs parallel classes in grades F-3 and double parallel classes from grade 4-9.

We are located in central Gothenburg, near Kapellplatsen, with two school buildings. Grades F-5 and after-school care are located at Landalagången 3, while grades 6-9 are at Molinsgatan 7. We are a small school where we value close contact between children, parents, and staff. Currently, 385 primary school students attend our school.

About the Position

Full-time position (100%).

Responsibilities

You will teach in grades 4–6, including homeroom teacher duties, assessment, and grading. For the academic year 2026–2027, the role will primarily involve teaching in grade 6.

You will work both independently and in close collaboration with other staff members as part of a teaching team.

• Teaching certification and eligibility in core subjects and Social Sciences.
• Strong relational skills; you meet young people with both warmth and clarity, supporting their development.
• Ability to teach in an engaging manner according to curriculum guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills and experience interacting with students, guardians, and colleagues.

In accordance with relevant laws, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required before an employment contract can be drawn up.
