Acting Construction Health and Safety Coordinator (Bas-U) / HSE Engineer with interest in construction

Vaara EHS is looking for an engaged Bas-U (Construction Health and Safety Coordinator) for a fixed-term assignment starting as soon as possible, lasting at least until April 2027, with the possibility of extension. The position is a full-time employment based in Tullinge, with assignments in the area from Södertälje to Sigtuna. If everything goes well, there is an opportunity for a permanent position.

About the role

As Bas-U, you are responsible for coordinating health and safety work during the execution phase of our construction projects. You ensure that work is carried out safely and in accordance with the Work Environment Act and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations. The role involves close collaboration with project management, subcontractors, and clients.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinating health and safety issues between the various actors on the construction site to ensure that work does not create risks for each other.
• Creating, adapting, and following up on the health and safety plan throughout the project.
• Conducting safety rounds and ensuring that deficiencies are rectified.
• Monitoring that current rules, routines, and safety measures are followed on-site.
• Documenting and reporting near-misses, accidents, and deviations.

We are looking for you who

• Have a valid Bas-P/Bas-U education (BAS-U qualification is a requirement) or good knowledge of health and safety and are willing to undergo Bas-U training.
• Have good knowledge of the Work Environment Act and relevant AFS regulations.
• Have experience from the construction or civil engineering industry.
• Are structured, communicative, and able to drive health and safety issues independently.
• Hold a B driver's license.
• Have fluent Swedish (mandatory).
