What we offer

Kristinebergskolan in Åmål gathers all students in grades 7–9 in and around Åmål. Here, there is a good working atmosphere between the school's 400 students and around 50 staff members, and the school is undergoing exciting development work with the student at the center. The school has invested in classes with fewer students, home classrooms, and teachers who are close to the students, organized into cross-disciplinary work teams.

The school is led by the principal and the deputy principal. Student health services are on-site every day with special educators, counselors, and school nurses, as well as special needs teachers and social pedagogues. Several teaching assistants support both students and staff in the various work teams.

Who are you

We are looking for you who enjoy working together with colleagues to focus on the student's learning and social development. You are confident and clear in your leadership, and you capture and inspire the students you meet. As a person, you are positive, clear, responsible, and solution-focused. In addition to actively contributing to students' development, learning, and goal achievement, as well as the school's development, we see that you place great importance on close collaboration with student health services, school management, and other staff.

Your assignment

We are looking for a special needs teacher with as broad qualifications as possible. You may have a special needs teacher orientation towards Swedish and/or mathematics. Your assignment consists of teaching students both individually and in groups. You work together with the other three special needs teachers and with the entire student health team. The assignment varies between meeting and teaching students in the school's support unit "Paletten" and teaching students in or in close connection to regular teaching.

You have good collaboration skills and can build good relationships, as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.

Formal competence requirements

• Qualified and licensed special needs teacher
• Digital identification with BankID
• The employment assumes that you have a B driving license

Meritorious

• Experience from previous teaching
• Experience from previous assignments as a special needs teacher
• Education in and experience of working with MI (Motivational Interviewing), as it is used as an active tool

The employment

Permanent position at 100% with an start date of August 12. The position is currently located at Kristinebergskolan in the Primary School Operations, Area C within the Culture and Education Administration. The direct manager is the principal at Kristinebergskolan. The position is filled subject to necessary decisions being made.
