Scientific competence is demonstrated through clearly documented research experience. Pedagogical competence is normally demonstrated through teaching at both undergraduate and advanced levels. This competence must be well documented in a manner that allows for the assessment of the quality of the pedagogical activities.

Significant weight is given to:

  • documented ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • successful planning, application, and acquisition of grants for research projects from external funders.
  • documented experience in integrating statistical theory with modern computational methods in education or research.
  • documented ability to use Swedish in speech and writing at a professional level. This is demonstrated, for example, through documented experience of teaching in Swedish or a certificate of language skills equivalent to at least level B2 (CEFR).

Weight is given to:

  • administrative competence and the ability to interact with the surrounding society and to disseminate information about research and development work.
  • documented experience in the application of statistics in other subject areas.

Merits include university-level pedagogical education of at least 15 higher education credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.

About the Position

The appointment is permanent and full-time, with a start date to be agreed upon.

The appointment includes competence and research time according to the current collective agreement.

Applicants who lack university-level pedagogical education of at least 15 higher education credits and who are not assessed to have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways must undergo such education during the first two years of employment.

Additional Information

Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement for the appointment; however, an applicant offered the position who does not master Swedish at the time of employment must be prepared to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks requiring understanding and use of Swedish within two years if necessary.

As the Faculty of Social Sciences aims for a more balanced gender distribution among Senior Lecturers, the department welcomes applications from women.
