Workplace Description

Our school, Hjulsta Primary School, is a grades F-9 school with approximately 400 students located 100 meters from the Hjulsta subway station, the first stop on the blue line. Many students come from different cultures, and most have Swedish as their second language, which enriches, develops, and challenges our daily lives. The school leadership consists of the principal, deputy principals, an administrative manager, and a staff group of approximately 90 people, about half of whom are teachers. We have a comprehensive student health team consisting of a school counselor (SYV), three special education teachers, a school social worker, a school nurse, and a school psychologist.

Our students should be given the opportunity to develop their best selves, with good knowledge and well-developed skills for the future. We who work at Hjulsta Primary School want to make a difference, and with great engagement and expertise, we work together. Now we are accelerating the school's joint development work towards higher goal fulfillment. Our main focus for the coming school year is the development of teaching based on scientific grounds and proven experience. Since the autumn term of 2019, Hjulsta Primary School has intensified its work to systematically develop teaching. A senior teacher position has been appointed, and our new senior teacher has, as part of their role, responsibility for leading a practice-oriented and research-focused development work at the school. Accessible teaching, digitalization, language and knowledge-enhancing teaching are other areas we prioritize, as well as collaboration between school and working life.

We live in a dynamic world and want everyone who works here to be flexible and have a solution-oriented approach. With lack of hierarchy and teamwork, most things can be solved. Now we are looking for a teacher with subject qualifications in all Social Studies (SO) subjects for grades 7–9 who wants to work with us and contribute to the school's development in collaboration with many competent colleagues. Your Role

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach in the lower secondary school (grades 7–9) in geography, history, social studies, and religion. Together with other Social Studies teachers, you will be responsible for the students' teaching in these subjects. You will be part of a working group in the lower secondary school and will be responsible for 10–15 mentor students.

Your Competence and Experience

You are a qualified and certified teacher in geography, religion, history, and social studies. We would like you to have a couple of years of work experience.

We offer a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK per year.
