About the Position

Östad School is looking for a teacher for the upcoming Grade 2, a substitute position for the academic year 2026-2027. About Östad School

Östad School is a K-6 school with an associated after-school center. We have one class in each grade, and in the autumn, there will be approximately 125 students at the school. We are located on the outskirts of the beautiful Sjövik, next to Östad Church, the forest, and the meadows. You can easily get here by bus, car, or why not by bicycle.

There are around 20 people working at the school. We work systematically with our quality work and always keep the student in focus. We connect current research to our development areas, which in the autumn will focus on pedagogical leadership and teaching in reading, writing, and mathematics.

For us, it is important that students get to use all their experiences and languages to develop identity, new skills, and knowledge. We see that students learn best when they are allowed to work and develop together. Our vision, that we teach with heart and mind, is based on a view of humanity that includes and accepts everyone. The goal is for Östad's students to feel good, experience security, study peace, and good community, and leave school with a fine sense of self-esteem, great initiative, and good academic results.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a substitute class teacher in Grade 2. It is a class with 19 students. You are part of the work team for Grades K-3. Your task is to plan, conduct, and assess students' knowledge and development, but also to work to ensure that students feel good, believe in themselves, and develop as a group. You will have ample opportunity to use your competencies and ideas to find paths, methods, and pedagogical tools to develop teaching, as well as to create favorable extra adjustments and special support. At your disposal are your work team, the entire staff, and the school's special education teacher (EHT).

Qualifications

You need to have broad qualifications and be a licensed teacher for teaching in the younger age groups.
