Teacher Grades 4-6 Vallaskolan F-6

Sala Municipality in eastern Västmanland has approximately 22,800 inhabitants and is the largest in the county by area. The municipality has several smaller urban areas as well as the city of Sala with 13,000 inhabitants. Due to its historical significance, primarily the Sala Silver Mine, Sala has its rightful place on the map of Sweden.

Vallaskolan F-6 is located in a new and beautiful school building. The school has three classes in each grade from preschool class up to grade 6. All grades have their own home base with classrooms, common rooms, and group rooms. Our youngest students also have their after-school activities in these bases. The school is designed to provide students and staff with a pleasant working environment in modern and bright premises. Well-equipped sports halls are located in close proximity to the school.

At Vallaskolan F-6, we work based on the students' entire school day. Many of our students attend after-school care, and the after-school staff is also present during school hours. This means we have more adults available as support for the students both during lessons and breaks. The school has a student health team consisting of special education teachers, special needs teachers, school nurses, counselors, and behavioral scientists. We also benefit from the various competencies of the central resource team.

Students at Vallaskolan F-6 are to meet a language-developing approach in all subjects as well as in the after-school care activities. Our youngest students are to be given good conditions to learn to speak, read, and write, as well as basic mathematics, so that they can then develop knowledge in all school subjects.

Students who feel well learn more; therefore, students are to encounter movement and play every day, both during school hours and at after-school care. Students and staff should be close to each other during the school day. Treatment and attitude, as well as good cooperation with guardians, are always important for our students' sense of security and well-being.

DUTIES

Do you want to make a difference for our students every day? At Vallaskolan, you will become an important part of our dedicated middle school where collaboration, development, and the student's best interests are at the center.

As a teacher with us, you teach students in grades 4–6 and plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching based on the compulsory school curriculum and steering documents. The position includes teaching in art and Swedish as a second language, as well as home economics and consumer knowledge.

You work closely with several work teams and grade teams, which provides good opportunities for collegial learning and collaboration with skilled and dedicated educators. Together, we take responsibility for creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students feel seen, involved, and given the conditions to develop as far as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a teacher's degree with eligibility to teach in grades 4–6. You have eligibility in Swedish and a good understanding of the language's importance for students' learning and knowledge development.

It is meritorious if you also have eligibility in Swedish as a second language. Eligibility in art and home economics and consumer knowledge is also valuable for the position. We would like you to have broad subject competence and appreciate collaborating with colleagues across grades and subjects.

Requirement for a background check upon offer of employment. This according to the law on register control within school, after-school, and preschool activities. The National Police Board's criminal record register for work in school or preschool.
