Folksam is in the midst of an exciting journey – the Data & Analytics section is growing, and we are now looking for an experienced AI Engineer who wants to help build and deploy AI solutions. Here, you will work with GenAI end-to-end – from idea to finished product – in an environment where solutions must work in practice and create real value. Join us in mapping tomorrow's AI landscape at a company with heart, where technology and innovation are high on the agenda. The role is based at our headquarters in Stockholm (Skanstull).
About the role
As an AI Engineer at Folksam, you play a key role in our AI journey – you take ownership, navigate complex contexts, and act as a bridge between technology and business.
The section is responsible for the development and maintenance of Folksam's data and analytics platforms, master data systems, and AI solutions. You will work in a cross-functional, agile team with clear responsibility for designing, developing, and further developing AI and machine learning solutions – often with generative AI as a central component.
You contribute with a technical holistic view and drive efforts to move Folksam's position forward to new levels within AI. You clear obstacles, take initiative, and get things done – even when conditions and technology are not given.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and deploy AI and ML solutions in an enterprise environment end-to-end
- Take responsibility for the entire AI lifecycle: from requirements and solution design to operations and further development
- Evaluate, select, and combine tools, platforms, and technologies based on the situation and needs
- Work with Microsoft Foundry (incl. OpenAI, AI Services/Foundry Tools), Azure Databricks, OpenShift (Kubernetes), and DevOps pipelines
- Collaborate closely with the business to identify the right problems to solve and ensure that solutions create business value
Are you the one we are looking for?
To succeed in the role, we see that you have a strong interest in technology and enjoy staying updated on new technologies, trends, and working methods. You are a driven generalist with knowledge in a bit of everything, combining fearlessness with humility and working without ego. You are confident in your skills and used to making decisions even when not all answers are known, and you thrive in navigating the unclear. You enjoy a role where you work closely with the business, take responsibility for the whole picture, and contribute to turning ideas into reality. You communicate effortlessly – whether in a deep technical dive or in front of a larger audience. You are happy to share your knowledge, are structured and flexible in changing course when needed, and see the team as a crucial success factor.
We also see that you have:
- A university degree in computer science, machine learning, systems science, or work experience assessed as equivalent
- Experience in a role such as AI Engineer or similar, having taken AI products from idea to design, operations, and further development (end-to-end)
- Several years of practical experience in developing and deploying AI and/or ML solutions
- Very good programming skills in Python
- Fluent language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
We consider it meritorious if you have experience with:
- Generative AI, large language models, RAG solutions, and vector databases
- Cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
- DevOps, CI/CD
- Kubernetes (e.g., OpenShift), Databricks, and MLflow
- Design and development of REST APIs
- Work in larger organizations or regulated environments
