Job Description
Kafka Specialist – Establishing and Further Developing a Shared Platform

A strategic project within a larger society-critical organization aims to establish Kafka as a shared integration and messaging platform. To strengthen the team, we are looking for a consultant with deep competence in establishing and further developing Kafka as a platform.

We are seeking a specialist who can contribute to building and further developing a stable, scalable, and secure event-driven architecture for the entire organization. The role involves working in a Kafka team with responsibility for the design, implementation, and management of the platform in on-premise environments based on OpenShift and virtual servers.

We are looking for you who have practical experience in building, operating, and further developing Kafka in larger business-critical environments. You can take responsibility through the entire lifecycle – from requirements and architecture to operation, optimization, and knowledge transfer. The work is carried out in close collaboration with developers, architects, and other IT functions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a Kafka team and contribute specialist competence in Kafka and event-driven architecture, as well as guide regarding design choices and established working methods.
• Lead technical decisions and translate business needs into solution proposals within Kafka, OpenShift, and virtual environments, with a focus on architecture, scalability, and deployment.
• Work operationally with the installation, configuration, optimization, and management of Kafka clusters in OpenShift and/or VM-based environments.
• Design and implement solutions for security, access, and data integrity in Kafka, such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and topic management.
• Contribute to the establishment of processes and tools for monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and CI/CD flows related to the Kafka platform.

Preliminary Start Date: 2026-11-01

End Date: Latest by 2029-12-31

Scope: Estimated to be 80–100 percent.

Security Clearance: Security clearance and register check are required.
