We are now looking for another new colleague for Medicine Department 6 at Västervik Hospital. The position is a fixed-term employment starting on September 1, 2026, and ending in April 2027.

Work on the stroke unit offers both variety, responsibility, and development. Here you will meet patients at all stages of life, and tasks vary from acute stroke care and neurology. The work involves participation in treatment, diagnostics, prevention, and rehabilitation. We care for both patients with high monitoring needs requiring frequent checks, and patients with other symptoms that need investigation and treatment. At our facility, the patient's relatives have a natural place, and we highly value supporting them. You will become a central part of our stroke team, where collaboration between different professions is in focus. As a nursing assistant, you are often the important link between the patient, relatives, the municipality, and other healthcare providers, contributing to a safe and secure care process and discharge.

About you

For this position, we are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant. If you have previous experience in stroke/neurology care, we see this as meritorious. You are a person who feels secure in your profession and enjoys taking initiative and learning new things. Since things move quickly in our care area, both regarding patients' conditions and changing workloads, we consider it important that you have the ability to work systematically and prioritize your work when required.

Department 6, the Stroke Unit, has 12 care beds where the focus is on stroke, neurology, but also general internal medicine. The Medicine Clinic in Västervik provides qualified internal medical services available around the clock for our residents from the age of 18. The clinic has three inpatient wards, a dialysis clinic, and two medicine clinics where all specialist clinics are represented. As an employee, you will receive an introduction to all three inpatient wards so that you can work there if needed. Outpatient services are also provided on the care wards, such as heart, lung, and stroke clinics.

Västervik Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with maternity care and a neonatal unit.
