We offer exciting work with shifts during days, evenings, and weekends, where no two days are alike.

Here, you will meet and care for patients in need of both acute and postoperative care. Our focus is on upper and lower gastrointestinal surgery, breast surgery, vascular surgery, urological surgery, and oncological surgery, although other specialties may also become relevant. For you who are a new nurse, we have SPIK (Specialist Nurse in Clinical Practice) responsible for helping and supporting new nurses. We have good opportunities to provide you with a solid introduction, both specific to the clinic and in hospital-wide contexts. For those with more experience, there are development opportunities for paid specialist education or the chance to participate in research within surgical nursing.

About you

We are looking for you who are interested in surgery, want to work independently, and wish to develop in your role as a nurse. Teamwork is important to us, and we expect you to be good at collaborating and flexible. In interactions with patients and relatives, you are empathetic and keep the patient and their loved ones in focus. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your future workplace

The Surgical Clinic conducts a broad range of activities divided into upper and lower abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery, urological surgery, and surgical emergency care. In total, over 200 people work at the clinic. The surgical clinics in Kalmar and Oskarshamn form a joint clinic, where advanced surgery is located in Kalmar, and in Oskarshamn, activities are conducted that normally are not expected to require intensive care. We are now looking for nurses for our departments in Kalmar.

Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an acute care hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and neonatal care. Over 2,300 people work here to offer good care and high patient safety to the county's inhabitants.
