Operating Room Assistant for Orthopedic Day Surgery
At Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care, we care for patients and families facing a critical moment. For some, we are the last hope. For others, we create an opportunity for a better life. Whether you work on the sterile technology department, in one of our mobile units, on the intensive care unit, or in the operating room, you play a crucial role in decisive moments. We welcome your application to become part of our team.
Our Operations
Our orthopedic day surgery unit is in an expansion phase, with plans to increase the number of operating rooms. Our team consists of operating room nurses, anesthesia nurses, operating room assistants, orthopedic surgeons, and anesthesiologists. We perform day surgery procedures involving hand, fracture, shoulder/knee, and foot surgery. To ensure the smooth execution of our daily surgical schedule, we strive for efficient patient flows. Our patients are well-prepared for this type of care and typically go home a few hours after surgery. We are a small unit that works closely together with the patient at the center of our focus.
Our department is divided into inpatient care and a day surgery section, which has its own pre- and post-operative unit located in close proximity to the operating rooms.
Your Role
As an operating room assistant, you work closely with anesthesia and operating room nurses, assisting them with the initiation of anesthesia and the preparation of materials used during surgery. You participate in preparations in the operating room and in the care of the patient while they are in the department.
Working in an operating room is exciting, and you will encounter people in many different situations. Many employees in various professions agree: Orthopedic surgery is a workplace where there is always something new to learn! You will become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. We offer you a varied and stimulating job as an operating room assistant, where your role is significant in the collaboration with colleagues in the surgical team. You will be a key player in providing the best perioperative nursing care within anesthesia and surgery. You will become familiar with a lot of technical equipment surrounding us.
Your Qualifications
A completed education as an operating room assistant is required (a copy of your diploma must be attached to the application). We prefer that you have several years of experience in similar work, or alternatively, experience working on a ward or in home healthcare. Swedish language skills at C1 level are required.
Your Competencies
As a person, you have a solution-oriented approach and an interest in learning technical equipment. You always put the patient first and are responsible and motivated in your work. As a person, you are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. If you combine this with curiosity and attention to detail, you will thrive with us.
What We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position. Your working hours are scheduled from Monday to Friday. Start date by agreement. Probationary period may apply.
