Operating Room Nurse for Orthopedic Surgery – Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care
At Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care, we care for patients and families facing a pivotal moment. For some, we are the last hope. For others, we create an opportunity for a better life. Whether you work in the sterile processing department, in one of our mobile units, on the intensive care unit, or in the operating room, you play a crucial role in critical moments. We invite you to apply to become part of our team.
Do you want to work in a department where your skills make a real difference – every day?
We are now looking for Operating Room Nurses for our orthopedic surgical department. Here, you will work in an experienced and engaged team where quality, patient safety, and collaboration are central parts of daily life.
This is a role for you who wish to combine highly specialized care with a sustainable work life, collegial support, and the opportunity to participate in the continued development of the department.
Our Department
The orthopedic surgical department covers both planned and emergency surgery. Here, you will encounter a department with high competence, clear workflows, and close collaboration between different professions. We work together to create safe, secure, and person-centered care for every patient.
At our department, the work environment is important. We know that good care is created by employees who have the right conditions to do a good job. Therefore, we actively work on developing working methods, planning, and teamwork to create a sustainable and well-functioning department.
Your Role
As an Operating Room Nurse, you have a central role in perioperative care. Together with the other professions in the team, you are responsible for planning and carrying out perioperative nursing care in connection with surgery.
Your duties include, among other things:
- contributing to safe and secure perioperative care
- collaborating closely with anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, anesthesiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and other colleagues in the team
- participating in quality and improvement work within the department
- contributing to the development of routines, working methods, and a good work environment
- assisting in the introduction and supervision of students and new employees as needed
The work is varied and requires clinical judgment, structure, and the ability to adapt to different situations.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- is a nurse with specialist education in operating room nursing
- has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Experience with surgical operations and/or orthopedic surgery is meritorious, but we also welcome those who are new to their specialist role and wish to continue developing in a secure and competent environment.
Your Competence
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
To thrive with us, we believe you are a person who works systematically, takes responsibility, and has a professional attitude in interactions with both patients and colleagues. You have good collaboration skills, contribute to a good work climate, and see the value in working together for the patient's benefit.
We are looking for someone who wants to be an active part of a team where knowledge is shared, questions are encouraged, and development is a natural part of the work.
What We Offer
With us, you will work in a department where both the patient mission and the employees' work environment are taken seriously.
We offer:
- an experienced and well-functioning team with high competence
- close collaboration between professions where everyone contributes to the whole
- an introduction adapted to your experience and competence
- opportunities for learning, development, and participation in improvement work
- a workplace focused on quality, structure, and sustainable working methods
- good opportunities to influence and be part of the department's continued development
We want you to feel secure in your role, proud of your profession, and trusting of the team around you. At our department, you receive benefits that make a difference. Read about the benefits here: Region Uppsala Benefits (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/).
