Opportunity to Apply for Study Grant
Are you a nursing student interested in working in inpatient care at the Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Centre when you have completed your education and graduated as a nurse? We offer you, who are starting term 6 of the nursing program and choose to start your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for a study grant during your final term (term 6).
Grow into the Role
As a newly graduated nurse with us at Akademiska Sjukhuset, you will have varied tasks and a secure and educational start in your new profession. Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us at Akademiska Sjukhuset.
KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for you as a newly graduated nurse employed in Region Uppsala, aimed at sharpening your clinical skills, networking with other newly graduated nurses, and having reflection time together with experienced nurses. Our Operations
All job roles within geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine have one thing in common: it is meaningful, exciting, and developing to work within our department. Our tools are science and proven experience, and we have Akademiska Sjukhuset's combined resources at our disposal. We dare to try new paths, and our driving force is to make a difference for our patients every day. We are constantly working on improvement and have developed working methods where the patient is put at the center and the competence of all professions is utilized.
Our departments are:
- 30A Geriatric Emergency Care Department
- 30B Orthogeriatric Department
- 85C Rehabilitation Medicine and Neurogeriatric Department
Your Competence
You are a nursing student starting term 6. You are interested in geriatrics and/or rehabilitation medicine. You want to start working at one of our three care departments after completing your degree. We place great importance on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious attitude and good collaboration skills.
What We Offer
We offer you a permanent position as an assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse.
You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement.
Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty requirements for all hours of the day, so-called rotational duty.
