Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Centre

We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We look forward to receiving your application!

Our Operations

The Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Centre consists of four sections: Health Professions, Pain Centre, Geriatrics, and Rehabilitation Medicine. All sections are characterized by well-functioning interprofessional collaboration, which we are very proud of. We want you to feel welcome here. As a new employee, you will be offered supervision, an introduction program, and professional networks. We are experts in rehabilitation but always strive to become even better. As part of this, there is a strong focus on research and progress, both within and outside the hospital. As an employee, you are an important part of this; it is natural for you to want to develop and drive the operations forward.

Within the department, approximately 30 dietitians work within somatic care, both in inpatient and outpatient care. You will be employed at the Health Professions within Medicine department, and your clinical placement will be within Bariatric Surgery.

Being a dietitian at Akademiska sjukhuset is exciting work where you will meet people in many different situations. You will become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. You can expect varied work with challenging tasks. The introduction will be adapted to your needs, and an individual competence plan is made annually with your direct manager. Knowledge development also occurs through network meetings and interdisciplinary meetings.

Your Role

The position involves placement primarily in the outpatient care of bariatric surgery. Here, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team surrounding individuals who have undergone bariatric surgery or are undergoing assessment for bariatric surgery. You will work closely with a dietitian colleague, primarily with outpatient visits, but also team meetings, rounds, and group information sessions. The role may also involve some inpatient care and coverage in other diagnostic areas.

The work involves close contact with both patients and staff, which places high demands on good customer service, flexibility, and well-developed collaboration skills. You are part of a staffing group where you, together with other dietitians, support each other's operations during absences.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed dietitian. Experience with nutritional treatment within bariatric surgery is meritorious. However, even you who are new to the dietitian role are welcome to apply.

Your Competence

Great importance is attached to personal suitability, good collaboration and organizational skills, as well as an interest in development work. As a person, you are secure and open. You have good self-awareness and enjoy working in teams as well as independently. In your work, you are solution-focused and reflective. You should feel comfortable making independent decisions and prioritizing among tasks.

We Offer

We offer a permanent position with a start date of 2026-08-10 or as agreed.

As an employee within Region Uppsala, you have access to Friskhuset's gym, group training, physiotherapy, ergonomics, personal training, lectures, and massage at a favorable price.
