We are now looking for you who have experience in pharmacokinetics/pharmacometrics and want to contribute to safe and effective medicines.

Our operations

The Business Area Authorizations works in several ways to ensure that appropriate medicines reach the patient. Approval of new medicines and new indications, as well as safety follow-up of approved products, are central parts. Advice regarding medicine development and information about medicines are other important parts. The business area has approximately 370 employees and is divided into several units, where the Unit for Efficacy and Safety evaluates documentation regarding the efficacy and safety of medicines. The investigations and recommendations made form the basis for decisions on whether a medicine should be approved for clinical use. We collaborate with other EU member states in the investigation work and actively contribute to committees and working groups within the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

We now have a need to recruit an additional employee to the Kinetics Group at the Unit for Efficacy and Safety. The Kinetics Group, consisting of approximately 15 people, works with the parts of cases concerning clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacometrics.

Your responsibilities

In the role of investigator, you will combine independent work with close collaboration with other pharmacokinetics investigators/pharmacometricians, as well as pharmaceutical, preclinical, and clinical expertise in an interdisciplinary environment. You will primarily work with the evaluation of clinical pharmacokinetic documentation, such as population (popPK) or physiologically based (PBPK) modeling of pharmacokinetics, exposure-response relationships, as well as ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and drug interactions in the documentation for medicines in various procedures. An important part of the work is to concisely describe and justify the conclusions in a written report in English, and also communicate your conclusions to other investigators at the Swedish Medical Products Agency. Since we collaborate with other European medicines authorities in approval cases, it also includes evaluating conclusions in reports from other countries. As an investigator in pharmacometrics/pharmacokinetics, you will also contribute your expertise in scientific advice.

Your background

We are looking for you who:

• have a degree from a relevant basic science education
• have a PhD in pharmacokinetics/pharmacometrics or alternatively several years of experience in qualified work within the field
• can communicate and assimilate information in both Swedish and English.
• have very good knowledge of English, especially regarding writing scientific and/or medical reports.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• experience in medicine development, preferably from industry and with a focus on pharmacokinetic/pharmacometric issues
• experience in regulatory work within areas relevant to the position
• practical experience in modeling, for example PBPK
