Whether you work in the sterile technique department, in one of our mobile units, on the intensive care unit, or in the operating room, you play a crucial role in critical moments. We welcome your application to become part of our team.

Our Operations

On our department, we examine, treat, operate on, and care for patients with diseases, injuries, and pain in the musculoskeletal system. Our operations are broad, covering both emergency and planned surgery. Our main focus is highly specialized care within five sections: hand, fracture, prosthesis, shoulder/foot, and spine surgery.

Our department is divided into inpatient care and a day surgery unit, which has its own pre-/post-operative unit located close to the operating rooms.

Your Role

As a Specialist Nurse with us at Orthopedic Surgery, you will become part of a skilled team where we support and help each other in the operating room.

We offer individually adapted onboarding based on previous experience. Together with the deputy department heads, you will create your competency development plan. Competency development takes place through further education, improvement work, working groups, and projects. To continue developing and being inspired in your profession, you have the opportunity to participate in courses and conferences.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a Specialist Nurse degree specialized in anesthesia care.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in anesthesia care

Meritorious:

  • Supervisor training at university level

Your Competencies

We want you to always put the patient first and be responsible and motivated in your work. Your thoughts and ideas are important puzzle pieces for us in our continued development work. Therefore, we see you as someone who enjoys contributing your knowledge, ideas, and enthusiasm. We see it as a given that you are motivated by change and improvement work. We also see that you are flexible, structured, and have a good ability to prioritize in daily work. We place great importance on personal suitability.

What We Offer

We offer a permanent position on a full-time or part-time basis with start date as agreed.

For those starting work with us and coming from another location, there is an opportunity to apply for temporary staff housing. There is also the possibility to apply for a housing allowance during the first six months of employment at Akademiska sjukhuset. Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.

Region Uppsala assigns all permanent staff for wartime duties based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime; it is solely a planning measure.

Before a decision on employment, a check of the suspicion and criminal records register is conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care for addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to mainly involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's own channels, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
