Specialist Nurse in Orthopedic Day Surgery – Region Uppsala
Department: Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care
At the Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care, we care for patients and their families during critical moments. For some, we are the last hope; for others, we create the opportunity for a better life. Whether you work in the sterile processing department, in our mobile units, on the intensive care unit, or in the operating room, you play a crucial role in these decisive moments. We invite you to join our team.
Our Operations
Our orthopedic day surgery unit is in an expansion phase, with plans to increase the number of operating rooms. We are a small, close-knit unit with the patient at the center of everything we do. Our team consists of operating room nurses, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, orthopedic surgeons, and anesthesiologists.
We perform day surgery procedures in hand, fracture, shoulder/knee, and foot surgery. By striving for efficient workflows, we ensure that our surgical program is executed smoothly. Our patients are well-prepared for this type of care and typically return home a few hours after surgery.
Your Role
As a Specialist Nurse in our day surgery unit, you will become part of a skilled team where we support and help each other in the daily work of the operating room.
Onboarding is tailored to your previous experience. Together with the Deputy Unit Manager and the Education Coordinator Nurse, you will develop an individual competence development plan. Your professional growth is supported through further education, improvement projects, participation in working groups, and various projects. You also have the opportunity to attend courses and conferences to continue developing and being inspired in your profession.
Your Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a Specialist Nurse degree in Operating Room Nursing.
Merits:
- At least two years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
- Master’s degree in Operating Room Nursing.
- Supervisor training at the university level.
Your Competencies and Personality
We are looking for someone who always puts the patient first and is responsible and motivated in your work. Your thoughts and ideas are important puzzle pieces for our continued development work. We value someone who actively contributes their knowledge, ideas, and enthusiasm. Being motivated by change and improvement work is something we consider essential.
You are flexible, structured, and have a good ability to prioritize in daily work. Personal suitability is of great importance to us.
