Job Description
We are looking for a new support assistant for Glasmästaregatan BmSS!
Glasmästaregatan BmSS is a housing facility with special services aimed at individuals with psychiatric conditions, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, autism, etc. Substance abuse and co-occurring disorders are also present. Challenging behaviors may occur in certain situations, for which clear action plans are in place.
Eight tenants, aged 30-50, both women and men, live at Glasmästaregatan. Pets may also be present at the facility.
Your role as a support assistant is to support the tenants in their daily lives, help them establish good routines, and contribute to long-term positive changes regarding social relationships and lifestyle habits. We work actively to break down isolation for our tenants. You will be a support in everyday life, handling everything from communication and stimulating leisure activities to household chores. You adapt your support to contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other individuals involved in the tenant's life, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare providers.
By creating and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are at the forefront. Your role includes motivating tenants in their daily lives. This may involve encouraging contact outside the home and creating conditions for a fulfilling leisure time based on the user's interests. It is important that you feel secure with the target group, as solo work is common. All social documentation is done in the Treserva documentation system. Medication management is also part of the job.
Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and every third weekend. Alternating weekends may also be required. Solo work occurs, especially on weekends. Often, there are two staff members on duty simultaneously. We use Time Care Planning for operational and flexible scheduling. We will also begin with joint planning.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing program, the Support Assistant program, or the Child and Youth program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You need to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the requirement, you may be asked to take a language test through Educateit.
It is meritorious if you have experience working with the target group within psychiatry and neuropsychiatry or other work within care and nursing. Furthermore, experience/knowledge in low-affective handling (LAB), motivational interviewing (MI), and an independent life (ESL) is meritorious.
You have a pleasant and helpful attitude, even in stressful situations, and show respect for everyone you meet at work. With a good understanding that people absorb knowledge in different ways, you adapt your approach based on the individual's conditions. You collaborate well with others by listening, showing interest, and treating the surroundings with respect. Additionally, you remain calm and secure even when the work situation becomes pressured or difficult.
