About the workplace

The Adult Unit in Orust is organized as one of three units within the Individual and Family Care services. The Adult Unit includes benefit administrators, housing coordinators, and social secretaries specializing in social psychiatry, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), harmful use and addiction, as well as violence in close relationships.

We are a team of 13 employees in total, including one first-level social secretary, led by a unit manager.

Your responsibilities

As a social worker within housing, you work broadly with issues related to individuals' opportunities to obtain and maintain housing. The role is new and therefore under development, which means you will have the opportunity to help shape the work based on local needs.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Conducting housing investigations and making decisions based on the Social Services Act.
• Working preventively against evictions through outreach and motivational work with households at risk.
• Leading and developing "housing school" and other supportive measures to increase the ability to retain one's home.
• Collaborating with landlords, other operations, and external actors.
• Contributing to the development of structures and working methods within the housing area.

The assignment involves close and practical work with the individual, but also strategic work where you help build and develop working methods over time. You will collaborate closely with our housing coordinator, who currently works with tasks in the same area.

Qualifications and requirements for the position

• Degree in Social Work (Social Work) or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Valid B-class driver's license.

• Have a degree in Social Work or other relevant higher education.
• Have experience in social work, preferably within economic assistance, housing issues, or authority operations.
• Are confident working both independently and in collaboration.
• Have a solution-focused and structured approach to work.
• Are flexible and thrive in a role where the assignment is partially shaped along the way.

Experience in eviction prevention work, housing support, or collaboration with housing companies is meritorious.
