The school has a highly competent and professional student health team, which, together with teachers and other staff, works to give students the best conditions for learning and development. Our conviction is that all students want and can reach the goals. The school's student health team consists of two counselors, two school nurses, two special needs educators, and a study and career counselor. As an extension of the student health service, with the students' best interests in focus, social pedagogues and resource pedagogues are also included in the school's organization.

As a school counselor, you have an important role in the school's student health. You are part of the student health team, where you work closely with students, teachers, and school leadership together with colleagues from different professions. The work is varied and characterized by frequent contact with students.

You will work with the following areas:

• Health promotion and preventive work, which includes, for example, working with students, classes, and groups, as well as providing advice and support to staff.
• The school's values-based work, plan for discrimination and harassment, action plans for increased attendance, crisis management, drug policy, bullying, and not least mentoring teachers and other professional groups in psychosocial matters.
• Conducting social investigations and assessments.
• Collaboration in the form of cross-professional cooperation within student health, with external actors working with children and youth, as well as with educators and other school staff.

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and documented knowledge and experience of supportive work with children and youth. You have good knowledge and experience of working within current legislation, primarily the Social Services Act. Experience working as a school counselor is meritorious.

You have knowledge and experience of cooperation with external actors such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) and social services.

It is important that you are a secure and independent person who upholds the values that the school stands for. You have a strong commitment to working with young people, a positive view of humanity, and a very good ability to build relationships with students and school staff. In your work, you see possibilities and potential in every individual. Independence and collaboration should be combined in teamwork. Therefore, it is important that you have the ability to see the operation as a whole and a good ability to collaborate and work in teams.

Good social competence combined with joy in work and creativity are important prerequisites for succeeding in the assignment.
