Water is the world's oldest beverage and our most important food.

With a focus on safety and sustainability, Sydvatten produces drinking water for nearly one million people in Skåne. Sydvatten is one of Sweden's largest drinking water producers.

We own and operate the Bolmen Tunnel, the two water treatment plants Ringsjöverket and Vombverket, as well as the main distribution system for drinking water. Drinking water production is a vital public service, and through collaboration, the 17 shareholder municipalities can guarantee their residents, schools, hospitals, and businesses a secure and cost-effective drinking water supply into the future.

Sydvatten is embarking on an exciting development journey with major investments, a growing organization, and increased commitment to sustainable water usage, which places demands on strengthening the company's internal and external communication. We are therefore looking for a communicator who will play an important role in Sydvatten's continued development.

Responsibilities and tasks

The role of communicator at Sydvatten is broad, encompassing both strategic long-term projects and more short-term operational tasks. Important parts of the role will include working on the company's strategic issues related to communication for behavior change leading to reduced water consumption, and strengthening the organization by developing our internal communication and information management.

Day-to-day tasks include working with social media, the website, and the intranet, creating content, and supporting the organization with texts and presentations. Together with the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for handling media contacts, monitoring the external environment, and participating in networks. Participation in educational projects and activities to build the employer brand is also part of the role. Crisis communication is an important part of the duties, and the position is part of Sydvatten's crisis organization.

The focus of the tasks will be determined by your profile and previous experience. In this role, you will work independently and have the opportunity to take many initiatives. You will be offered varied and stimulating work where you have the opportunity to influence the design of your role.

You will belong to the Business Support department, and your direct manager will be the company's Finance Director, who is also the Head of the Business Support department. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with the company's Communications Manager.

The role is close to operations, meaning you will have close collaboration with and be available to colleagues throughout the company. Your primary workplace is at our headquarters in Malmö.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in society, the environment, and sustainability, who thrives in an independent and communicative role with many external and internal contacts. You have a relevant university degree with a focus on communication, marketing, or equivalent, and have worked for several years as a communicator with similar tasks. It is an advantage if you have worked as a communicator in the public sector or in an organization with a clear focus on societal issues and sustainability.

You are a skilled writer and have good knowledge of creating presentations. You are confident in photographing, filming, and editing simpler images and videos independently. We would appreciate experience in driving behavior change through communication and building an employer brand. You may also have experience in building structures for internal communication and systems for information management. Experience and interest in using AI in your work is an advantage.

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

You command the Swedish language fluently and have good knowledge of English.

Terms of employment

Permanent position and full-time.

The position is classified with security clearance. Security screening with register check will be conducted prior to employment.
