Work Supervisor for the Employment Department in Uddevalla

Uddevalla – a place for life

Welcome to become part of our growing municipality and work with us to provide even better service to our residents.

We offer an attractive workplace that gives you great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow throughout their entire career. We also strive to develop as an employer and actively work to make the most of your knowledge and commitment. We appreciate and encourage participation from everyone.

Uddevalla Municipality is a beautiful place by the sea in the heart of Bohuslän. We believe in an open and positive interaction between the municipality, education, business, and culture.

We hope you will enjoy working with us!

About the Workplace

The Employment Department coordinates and implements labor market measures for individuals who are far from the labor market. Our main task is to ensure, through various measures, that our residents receiving social assistance can approach the regular labor market and become self-sufficient.

We are looking for you who want to help develop a working method within care homes that contributes to the development of our participants and creates societal benefits for the municipality.

Responsibilities

As a work supervisor, you will guide, mentor, and coach our participants in their daily work tasks as well as on their path toward employment, studies, or other legal means of support.

The role involves close collaboration with managers and staff in the municipality's operations. With a solution-oriented approach, you create good conditions and new opportunities for our target group. You will primarily supervise participants in simpler service tasks found in care homes. In your work, you collaborate with consultants to create plans for the participants you supervise. On the unit, we also work together in various teams, meaning you may occasionally need to cover other workplaces and supervise other participants.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and seeing their abilities and development. We value independence in your work and focus on collaboration. In all your interactions, you should maintain a pedagogical, respectful, and professional attitude.

Sometimes work tasks and new priorities may arise with short notice, requiring flexibility and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Minimum upper secondary education (high school diploma).
  • Post-secondary education in social pedagogy, support pedagogy, or other education/experience deemed suitable by the employer.
  • Experience working with forward-looking measures for people who are far from the labor market.
  • Digital literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience working with people who need adjustments in working life due to, for example, disabilities, substance abuse issues, or language difficulties.
  • Experience in leadership or previous experience as a supervisor/work supervisor.

Other Information

Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis. Start date is by agreement.

Employment is subject to necessary decisions being made. For positions involving direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for operations within LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care and nursing, healthcare, psychiatric care, and substance abuse care, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted prior to employment. Please note that obtaining this extract may take time, so order it well in advance to avoid delaying the recruitment process.

When you apply for a job with us, your application is stored. This is because we are a public entity. Your application becomes a public document once we have received it. This means that application documents and information about who has applied for a position can be requested by anyone.

If you have a protected identity, do not submit your application digitally but contact the person listed as the contact person in the advertisement.

For those who are not citizens of the EU/EEA area, a work permit is required; this does not apply to those with permanent residence permits. The work permit must be presented at the interview.
