Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is a large district area sometimes referred to as "Little Stockholm" due to its spread of areas with varying characteristics. This contributes to challenging and exciting work with great opportunities to influence the social services' work with children, young people, and parents.
Preventive and early support for families is a prioritized area. The transition to a more accessible, preventive, and experience- and knowledge-based social service is ongoing. Within the area, we work from a prevention science and system-oriented foundation, focusing on risk and protective factors.
We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building counselor for the outreach and early support unit at the youth clinic. The position is a fixed-term employment at 50% starting in August until December 31, 2026. The unit is part of the first-line area, which consists of four additional units.
We offer
With us, you will have a developing and meaningful assignment where you work closely with colleagues both within social services and healthcare. You will become part of an engaged team with high competence and a strong collaborative culture. As an employee, you have access to wellness benefits and the opportunity to buy annual passes to the city's own swimming and gym facilities at favorable prices. If you want to read more about Stockholm City's benefits, you can do so here (#).
Your role
The target group is children and young adults between 12 and 22 years old who contact the counselor at the youth clinic. Interventions are carried out without a needs assessment and are designed together with the person seeking support. Contact with parents is a natural part for the younger target groups.
The role includes among other things:
- Conducting motivational and supportive work with the individual.
- Collaborating with surrounding actors.
- Providing psychoeducation regarding issues such as depression and anxiety.
- Contributing to collegial learning within the team.
As part of the ongoing transition, focusing on more coordinated and knowledge-based early support, the following development areas are particularly prioritized:
- To make visible and strengthen the individual's participation in the interventions provided.
- To systematically follow up on whether the interventions have had the intended effect on the individual's life situation.
- To ensure that support and interventions are directed where the needs are greatest.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree in Social Work (Social Work degree), or a university education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
- Experience in individual counseling with children and/or young adults as well as parents.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you have knowledge of prevention science and a systemic approach. It is also meritorious to have experience from social services' work with the target group.
We see that you are confident in your professional role, have a professional attitude, and the ability to create trustworthy relationships. You thrive working in an operation characterized by development, participation, and engagement. Furthermore, we believe you are independent and have a good ability to drive and create structure in your work based on the overarching municipal assignment. You are flexible and adapt easily.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Other
Working hours are during the day, Monday-Friday, with some Saturday work. Evening work also occurs within the framework of flextime, for example in connection with evening opening hours.
We recruit without a personal cover letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only base ourselves on your CV and a number of questions you will answer when applying for the position. We request that you answer the questions concretely and concisely, and that there is a clear link between your answers and your CV.
Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at looking at each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
Enskede Årsta Vantör is one of 11 district administrations in Stockholm City.
