RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to contribute to developing quality in operations and make a real difference in everyday life? As a Method Support Specialist, you play a central role in strengthening competence, working methods, and quality through education, supervision, and operationally close support.
The Method Support Specialist is part of the Social Services Board's resource team, organized within the business area "Functional Support for Adults." In this role, you work closely with both employees and managers and contribute to the development of operations by planning, implementing, and following up on educational initiatives, as well as ensuring that knowledge is translated into practice. The goal is to promote competence and learning among staff who meet individuals with various disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, cognitive difficulties, and physical disabilities. In your work, you will encounter individual cases involving co-morbidity issues and mental health challenges.
You work on behalf of the operations and offer qualified guidance, supervision, and practical support in complex cases. An important part of the assignment is to act as a knowledge resource in targeted development initiatives and to support both work groups and individual employees, both in shorter interventions and over longer periods. As a Method Support Specialist, you will have access to education and competence development to succeed and feel secure in your assignment.
The work is based on the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's recommended methods and approaches for the target group, such as alternative and augmentative communication, clarifying pedagogy, and cognitively accessible environments. The assignment is also based on the best available knowledge, such as low-affective handling. The focus is to contribute to a systematic and sustainable development of the quality of operations for those we serve.
Documentation is carried out as needed according to current routines, and you are responsible for compiling and following up on the assignments you perform. The role involves a varied daily routine with close collaboration within the operations and a high degree of flexibility based on current needs.
The position will involve full-time work as a Method Support Specialist until the turn of the year 2026/2027, after which it will become a combined position distributed 50% as Method Support Specialist and 50% as Support Pedagogue in daily operations. As a Support Pedagogue, you work in the regular operations but with a special assignment that involves driving pedagogical work, supervising and supporting colleagues, and ensuring quality in implementation plans.
Working hours are during the day on weekdays.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a university degree in pedagogy or behavioral science, or alternatively another post-secondary education with a relevant focus on the target group. It is an advantage if you have knowledge about autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and mental disabilities, as well as experience with clarifying pedagogy and low-affective handling.
As a person, you are confident in yourself and your professional role. You have the ability to stand before a group, lead discussions, and convey knowledge in a clear and engaging manner. You work independently, take responsibility for your assignment, and drive the work forward based on the needs of the operations.
The assignment is changing, which requires you to be flexible and adaptable to new conditions. You see opportunities in change and work solution-focused in complex situations. At the same time, you have a professional and respectful approach that creates trust in meetings with both participants and colleagues. We see that you are curious, development-oriented, and want to contribute to strengthening the quality of operations and developing working methods over time.
You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as the work involves communication and documentation. Since travel occurs in the position, a B-driver's license is a requirement.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) will be requested upon employment.
Selection and interviews are conducted continuously – we welcome your application!
Employment type: Permanent position.
Kalmar Municipality checks identity and right to work before anyone is employed. This means that you, as a job applicant, need to show identification. If relevant, you may also need to show your residence and work permit.
