Job Description

There are jobs where you count the days until Friday. And then there are jobs where you feel that what you do actually matters. This is one of those jobs.

Imagine a job where relationships are given time. You meet families early on, work close to their daily lives, and have the opportunity to follow real change over time. At the same time, you are never alone; you have a team around you that supports, reflects, and develops together.

As a Family Therapist, you work both independently and as part of a team to:

  • Support parents in their change processes.
  • Strengthen the interaction between children and parents.
  • Mobilize networks and important relationships.

Collaboration is a central part of the work, and you cooperate with authorities, schools, child psychiatry (BUP), habilitation services, and other actors to create sustainable changes over time.

A part of the position is based at the Family Centre. There, you work in an interdisciplinary team together with maternal health care, child health care, and open preschools. You contribute to early identification of needs and strengthening children's upbringing conditions and families' living situations.

Our work is based on a knowledge-based approach where follow-up, reflection, and development are a natural part of the process. We work from systems theory, attachment theory, and developmental psychology, and use Signs of Safety to clarify strengths, concerns, and goals, as well as to create participation and security in change processes.

Here, your ideas and experiences are important – we develop together.

Interviews are conducted continuously, so do not wait too long with your application.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and experience in family therapy or work with children, young people, and families, as well as knowledge in parental support methods.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who identifies with the following:

  • A genuine commitment to people and a drive to contribute to change together with others.
  • Confidence in yourself and in meetings with others, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships even in complex situations.
  • A working style that combines structure with warmth, clarity, and flexibility, where you adapt to needs and contexts.
  • Good collaboration skills and a natural contribution to the team's development and community, with a focus on common results.
  • A solution-focused approach where you see opportunities, dare to think new thoughts, and remain stable in challenging situations, while simultaneously reflecting on and developing your work.

Other Requirements

  • Extract from the criminal record register before employment.
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles.

Other Information

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Permanent position.
  • Working hours: Daytime. The work is primarily during the day, but some evening and weekend duties may occur.

Employees of Emmaboda Municipality should reflect the diversity found in the municipality. We welcome applicants regardless of age, gender, or foreign background.

We expressly decline contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
