Skärholmen is looking for a Social Secretary (Social Worker) for our Reception for Children and Young People.

In the Reception for Children and Young People, we receive reports of concern, applications, and are responsible for initial contacts and assessments. We are looking for you who have a strong child's perspective and want to contribute to a safer everyday life and better conditions for children and young people. Your role

The assignment will involve routine work in our Reception for Children and Young People. The new Social Services Act, which came into force on July 1, 2025, implies a shift towards a more preventive, accessible, and knowledge-based social services. The social services should shift focus from authority exercise and reactive measures to proactive, preventive support. In connection with this, we have a focus on:

  • introducing open interventions without extensive needs assessment
  • strengthening early interventions for children/young people
  • increasing coordination and working methods for increased accessibility and trust in social services

The reception is the face of social services and provides advice and information to the municipality's residents and various cooperation partners. This may mean that you, together with your colleagues in the reception, participate in meetings and carry out outreach interventions, such as visiting schools to inform about social services' work and responsibilities. The work also involves developing and strengthening cooperation with other actors regarding children, for example, schools, preschools, and healthcare. The work involves exercising authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law of Authority over Young Persons (LVU).

Your competence and experience

A Social Work degree is required for the position.

The following are meritorious:

  • Experience of exercising authority within social services, especially within the children and youth area
  • Documented knowledge in BBIC and Signs of Safety
  • Documented knowledge in EARL and/or SAVRY, Conversations with Children and/or MI
  • Very good communicative skills, i.e., ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in the Swedish language

You have an easy time building trust and thrive in the role as a link between different operations. For the assignment, it is important to have good analytical skills where you manage to create structure in a complex context. With a focus on long-term goals, you work independently and convert analysis into concrete interventions. You need to have a good ability to express yourself both in speech and text, document, and compile decision materials. Meeting our children and their families in conversations is an important part of the work. Our goal is to provide the residents of Skärholmen with a legally secure and good treatment in contact with us.
