Stockfallets School is a growing F-6 school with just over 420 students. The school is located near the forest and has a fantastic schoolyard and outdoor environment that invites activities, play, and creativity.

Our focus is on the child's best interests throughout the day, and we work long-term and goal-oriented based on steering documents and current research. Together, we create a good working environment for learning, safety, and well-being.

For the students, the school is a social arena where the foundation for their future schooling is laid. Navigating friendships, handling conflicts, and finding one's place in the group can be socially challenging for a child. We know that mental health and security are fundamental prerequisites for learning. Therefore, we are looking for a professional and stable school counselor who wants to lead and develop our psychosocial work.

Responsibilities

As a school counselor, you are an important part of the school's student health team, whose common task is to ensure all students' equal opportunities for learning. In the team, you are responsible for the psychosocial perspective and actively work for well-being, equal treatment, and school attendance in all school operations.

As a counselor at Stockfallets School, you are responsible for driving and developing the school's overall work with several processes related to the Education Act, e.g.,

• Work systematically to promote equal treatment, safety, and school attendance.
• Investigate and remedy cases of bullying and harassment.
• Report concerns to social services.
• Investigate and remedy problematic school absenteeism.

In these areas, you work independently and systematically. This means, among other things, that you are responsible for ensuring that the school's routines are up to date and follow current legislation and the owner's guidelines. It also means that you educate, supervise, support, and encourage the pedagogical staff when they perform tasks related to these areas. You are a key person in the school's important collaboration with social services.

The role also includes cooperation with and supervision of guardians, as well as educational initiatives in classes and support conversations with students, individually or in groups.

The position is full-time, with 80% work at Stockfallets School and 20% municipal-wide work as a school counselor.

The position is subject to the necessary decisions being made.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker. If you have experience working in the school world or experience in similar work, we consider it meritorious.

We are looking for you who find it easy to collaborate, plan, prioritize, and perform your work independently. You have an outgoing and inclusive approach and build good relationships with teachers, students, and guardians. You treat people's differences with respect and share society's and the school's value base, including regarding inclusion.

Furthermore, you are confident in working with both small and large groups of students and staff to meet the Education Act's requirements for preventive and health-promoting work. You follow current research and base your development work on an analysis of previous results. You master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can document in writing what the activity requires.
