Description

We are now looking for a psychologist for School Area Hisingen 15 in Tuve!

School Area Hisingen 15 currently consists of Glöstorpsskolan (grades 7–9), Gunnestorpsskolan (preschool–6) and Tångenskolan (preschool–6).

Information on structural changes: The Primary and Secondary Education Board has decided that Tångenskolan will be closed, Gunnestorpsskolan will become a preschool–3 school, and Glöstorpsskolan will become a grades 4–9 school from the academic year 2026/2027. The psychologist position applies to the entire school area during this transition period.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the school's student health team, working alongside the principal, special education needs coordinator, counselor, school nurse, and school doctor. Your primary task is to work with the team to ensure that all students achieve the goals of the education. You will primarily work preventively and promotively based on the students' learning environment and remove obstacles to students' goal achievement. The principal is responsible for leading and managing the student health service.

Common tasks for the school psychologist include:

  • Mentoring individual teachers, pedagogues, or work teams.
  • Providing further education for other professions in relevant areas, such as mental health.
  • Conducting various forms of individual assessments.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external actors, such as guardians and healthcare partners.

For the parts of your work governed by the Health and Medical Services Act, a quality management system and methodological support have been developed. There is also a local PLA (Patient and Personnel Responsible) for support and training in matters concerning patient safety. All health and medical care work, such as psychological assessments, must take place in adapted premises, which also include office space.

As a psychologist in the Hisingen educational area, you have a psychologist group of approximately 20 people close by, including professional developers and the PLA. The group strives for a collaborative culture and meets regularly for collegial support, training, mentoring, and professional development. Newly hired psychologists are always offered a mentor.

Do you want to work in an environment with high competence, quality, and pleasant colleagues? Do you want to contribute to developing psychological work in schools and help increase goal achievement for our students? Then we hope that the position as a psychologist with us might be right for you!

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a licensed psychologist.
  • Enjoy and have the ability to drive development work.
  • Have knowledge regarding assessments of Intellectual Disability (ID).
  • Are well-versed in appropriate testing instruments.
  • Can build trust-based relationships.
  • Are clear in your communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Are responsible.
  • Have good collaboration skills.
  • Can work independently.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience working with PALS and PAX.
  • Some form of further education regarding mentoring/consultation methodology.

Does the above description fit you? We warmly welcome your application!
