Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you support the individual in their home, focusing on the user's needs and wishes. The duties include practical tasks, personal care, medical interventions, leisure activities, and social contacts. You are the support the user needs to participate in activities as much as possible and to help ensure the user has a good quality of life.

About the Case

We are looking for a secure, empathetic, and clear-headed personal assistant for a self-sufficient, cheerful middle-aged man with autism, ADHD, and intellectual disability. He is a happy person with a great sense of humor and appreciates sharing laughter and joy with those around him. To thrive and feel good, he needs an assistant who can create structure, remain calm in interactions, and provide clear support in daily life. The need for support varies depending on the day, but generally covers assistance with most aspects of daily living. In his free time, he enjoys driving, going for walks, watching TV, and having coffee with his assistants. He also loves to sing and joke, and often has a ready laugh. Sometimes he needs support in finding balance and help to slow down when his energy takes over. He attends a day program, which is an important part of his daily routine. There, he needs support, encouragement, and motivation to get going and feel secure in his daily routines.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have completed education from the nursing program, the child and youth program, or a one-year personal assistant course. Applicants with other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent may also be considered. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both written and spoken. The work should be characterized by a pedagogical and low-affective approach to support the user in maintaining and developing their skills. We are looking for someone who is patient, sensitive, and able to see the person behind the disability. You value building a secure relationship and want to contribute to a meaningful, fun, and content-rich daily life. We also look for someone who is social, sensitive, and proactive in activities with the user, and who collaborates well, as double staffing is available. We will place great emphasis on your personal competencies.

The role of personal assistant requires good physical fitness in terms of strength, stamina, and mobility. Since the job requires documentation, good computer skills are desirable. We prefer that you have a valid driver's license (Category B) and access to a car.

More About the Position

Permanent position with an employment rate of 89.48%. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

Start date in August or as agreed.

Full-time employment may be offered. You would primarily work in this case but may need to work hours in other cases/activities where there is a need. This assumes you can travel by your own car to the temporary workplace. Travel compensation is provided according to the agreement for work-related travel.
