Do you want to make a real difference for children in vulnerable life situations? At Save the Children, direct interventions for children and families are a central part of our work in Sweden. Every day, we meet children and young people who need support, security, and access to their rights – and here, our case managers and social workers play a crucial role.
As a case manager, you are a key person in ensuring that children and young people in our operations receive the right support. You contribute to:
- identifying children who are at risk or suffering harm
- referring them to appropriate interventions and support
- creating safe and secure environments for children
- ensuring that children's rights are met
You also serve as a vital support to colleagues and volunteers, sharing your knowledge and strengthening their work in interactions with children and young people.
We are now looking for a case manager for our operations in Boden, within the "Safe Housing" (Trygga Boenden) project. The project works to create safe environments and ensure rights for children living in Swedish Migration Agency accommodations in the area. The work focuses on:
- psychosocial support for children and parents
- collaboration and knowledge-raising initiatives directed at actors who meet children in asylum contexts
You will become part of a local team in Boden and simultaneously join the collegial team in Norrbotten, North Region. You report to the Group Manager in Norrbotten and also collaborate with colleagues nationally at other locations where the project is implemented.
ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?We are looking for someone who has both the right competence and a strong commitment to children's rights.
We see that you have:
- A degree in Social Work or another education considered equivalent
- Experience working with children in vulnerable life situations
- Knowledge of social law, the Social Services Act, and the Parental Code
- Knowledge of and preferably contacts within societal functions such as social services, healthcare, and schools
- Experience in supporting colleagues through counseling/coaching/supervision and/or competence development
- Good pedagogical skills and experience in spreading knowledge
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
It is meritorious if you have:
- Knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and its application
- Experience with issues concerning children in migration and/or personal lived experience of flight and migration
- Language skills in addition to Swedish and English. For example, Arabic, Somali, Persian, Dari, or Tigrinya.
In terms of personality, we see that you:
- listen actively and show empathy, care, and respect
- communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, children, parents, and professionals
- create calm and security even in complex situations
- bravely stand up for children's rights
At Save the Children, we are united by our shared values, which guide us in our work for children's rights.
