Do you want to work close to research while simultaneously building robust solutions used in an advanced production chain for hydrological modeling? In this role, you will become an important part of the development, further development, and quality monitoring of large datasets linked to the HYPE model.

You will step into a technically strong environment where Linux, Python, R, Bash, cloud services, and high-performance computing environments are a natural part of everyday life. You collaborate closely with researchers and developers and contribute throughout the entire flow from data collection and model runs to analysis, visualization, and delivery of results. This makes the role particularly interesting for you who want to combine programming, operations, and system design in a context where technology has a clear impact on the business.

• You develop, improve, and operate applications and digital tools on internal servers and cloud platforms.
• You program and further develop solutions in a Linux environment with a focus on Bash, Python, and R.
• You optimize and further develop the HYPE code to support model runs and data processing.
• You work with large datasets and file formats such as NetCDF, GRIB, and CSV.
• You strengthen sustainable operations through automation, version control, backup, monitoring, networking, and security solutions.
• You handle data throughout the entire chain, from observations and collection to analysis, forecasts, and delivery of results.
• You contribute to system design and architecture, translating technical requirements into working solutions.
• You drive your own areas of work and collaborate closely with researchers and developers to ensure quality assurance of the entire workflow.

• At least three (3) years of documented work experience, within the last 10 years, working in a Linux environment.
• At least three (3) years of documented work experience, within the last 10 years, setting up and running models on supercomputers (NSC).
• At least three (3) years of documented work experience, within the last 10 years, developing programs written in shell scripts, such as Bash, or Python.
• At least three (3) years of documented work experience, within the last 10 years, working with NetCDF files.
• You are fluent in Swedish, both in speech and writing.
• You have good knowledge of English, both orally and in writing.

• At least three (3) years of experience running the HYPE model.
• More than two (2) years of experience working with large datasets.
• More than two (2) years of experience in quality assurance of production chains.
• More than two (2) years of experience developing in the R programming language.
