Are you a service-oriented and efficient person with a strong administrative drive? Then we have a great opportunity for you! We are now looking for a claims adjuster to strengthen our construction damage team during an upcoming parental leave.

About the role

As a claims adjuster specializing in construction damages, you play a vital role in our operations. Through the market's best customer service, high availability, and construction expertise, you ensure that the customer's insured damage is resolved in an engaged and straightforward manner.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Receiving damage reports, primarily via phone but also digitally, and registering the claim
  • Meticulously documenting everything said and done in the case
  • Communicating with the customer regarding the handling process, clarifying expectations from the customer and what they can expect from us. Assess whether the claim should be transferred to a colleague or if you will handle it to conclusion.
  • Requesting necessary information to settle the claim.
  • Making assessments, deciding on the claim, determining compensation, and closing the case in a structured and correct manner.

In handling the damages, you also maintain ongoing contact with our construction contractors who assist the customer in restoring the damage. You review cost estimates, compare alternatives, and discuss possible solutions. The role also involves identifying the customer's future needs and forwarding this information to our colleagues responsible for selling our insurance products.

You have significant autonomy as you investigate and make decisions on compensation matters based on current insurance terms, practice, and legislation. In this position, you will work at our headquarters in Karlstad, primarily handling water, burglary, and machinery damages. You will have substantial administrative responsibility and will often be the first person our customers meet in their claims experience, regardless of the channel.

Who are you?

  • You are a person who appreciates structure and administrative work.
  • You are seen by others as a communicative team player.
  • You have relevant experience from the construction industry or other experience that we consider equivalent.
  • Meritorious if you have experience with the calculation tool MEPS and knowledge of building technology.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being the hub of the network – you thrive with a holistic overview of flows, systems, and cases, work quickly and efficiently, and take great responsibility for the administrative part of claims handling. You are confident in digital working methods and systems and enjoy structuring, prioritizing, and distributing work within the team.

As a person, you are structured, efficient, and unpretentious. You are flexible and have no problem with the fact that the workday doesn't always look the same. You have the ability to guide the customer through their claim in a positive and personal manner.

To succeed in this role, you need to work solution-oriented and have very good communication skills, both verbal and written. You are a good listener and understand the importance of well-functioning and ongoing communication with the customer. We work with a service focus, which leads us to achieve our goals with smooth and simple claims handling and high customer satisfaction – something we expect you to contribute strongly to as the first point of contact in the claims chain.
